Missha Time Revolution The First Treatment Essence from Korea, similar to SK-II and actually rumoured to be the dupes of SK-II since both using Saccharomyces Ferment Filtrate or known as Pitera. the one that invented the uses of fermented yeast ingredients is SK-II Japan, and P&G lab fermented ingredients.
This essence uses fermented ingredients. The essence is so popular in social media that makes me feel so curious about the effectiveness of the essences. I decided to purchase at

To my hope, this essence led me to feel disappointed. It is quite costly yet have no effect at all. If you happened to do some check about Pitera or other fermented ingredients benefits, such as benefit:
- Firm skin by supporting collagen production
- Brighten skin to more healthy skin
- Moist and hydrate skin
- Heal post acne scar
- Act as anti ageing
This is the major benefit when it comes to skincare that uses fermented ingredients. This essence doesn’t cover any of that benefit.
According to the site that this essence is for:
- Those with temperamental skin
- Those with a dull complexion
- Those seeking a clearer, cleaner complexion and more moisturized skin
The brand also claims that using this essence can increase the rate of absorption of the skin to reap the benefit of other skincare. That doesn’t happen at all. The benefit that they claimed is nonetheless just a gimmick claim.
Not even my post acne scars heal, and it does not soothe or even brighten my skin complexion. Most of the benefit mentioned above doesn’t happened in my skin. I have wasted my money on purchasing this essence.
The essence feels like regular water that I pour around my skin. It doesn’t even have the effect in firming or tightens my skin as fermented skincare should have done. I try about a month, and I don’t see any visible result at all.
The irony is MISSHA Time Revolution using Saccharomyces Ferment Filtrate that actually being used in SK-II essence but doesn’t bring the same outcome. I assume that the formulation may have been the problem, since it is tricky to use fermented ingredients that none of other skincare dare to use because the performance or outcome may not be as dramatic as most of us hear or read online. Such as brand that still doesn’t take any step to use fermented is the classic and popular brand Clinique.
In the past years, Clinique has been formulating ingredients over and over again, while bringing the new packaging and new benefit for the market, but have not yet heard they are going to use fermented ingredients.
There are many new indie brands in Korea that sell fermented essence that work and deliver similar performance to SK-II. It is
