Walking around Sephora ION orchard (location: Singapore) cashier and found a micellar gel in travel size and cost S$10.00+ from Clinique. If you have no ideas about “what is micellar gel”. This is a cleanser that is popularly being use by french women. They prefer micellar to cleanse their makeup to that of milk cleansing makeup. This Micellar cleansing differ from 2 type: water and gel. The most popular micellar is from BIODERMA brand that I have purchased and still on testing procedures. I do really love using micellar gel for makeup cleanses (but, will still use facial wash right after micellar gel), because of:

  • It’s refreshing
  • Doesn’t blocked pores or cause acnes
  • It’s keep my skin hydrated

I tested micellar water from several brands that is in water form and this is the first time I try the gel form. I’m not regretting purchasing from a top brand such as Clinique. I use few of Clinique products for my very dry and acne prone skin. The Clinique products that I currently use and have no problem: (product price range from S$ 40.00-S$60.00. Please see on Shopee for cheaper price or any US/UK beauty retail that hold this brand since, the country set the price cheaper than Singapore)

  • Clinique Even Better Facial Essence

What is it claimed for? [Refer to picture on the top] Clinique claimed to use non-acnegenic formula and it suitable for sensitive skin.

What is the drawback of using micellar cleansing?Nowadays, people are believing that wet tissue and micellar cleansing will cleanse their faces. Many of professional skincare expert that are against this particular skincare belief. For them, it’s better to use the facial wash for a through deep cleansing and healthy skin.

How to use? For face and lips, apply a quarter-sized amount with fingertips. Tissue off. For eyes, use cotton pad. No rinsing required. Not intended for removal of long-wearing or waterproof formula. For me, I will still wash my face with facial cleanser right after using micellar.

Is there any problem happened while testing occured? There is no problem at all.

Dupe for this product? L’Oreal micellar water work the same and the price is cheaper. its in water form not gel.

USE IT or LOOSE IT: L’Oréal Micellar water review

VERDICT:

Ratings: 4 out of 5

The product is worth every penny. In Singapore, this product is really costly and expensive. If you are located in any part of country that set the brand price higher, then I guess it is not worth the price, since it’s just micellar cleansing. I personally feel that you still need to cleanse your face with facial wash after using micellar or any type of cleansing that is not using traditional face cleansing.

Pros: Cleanse, hydrate and refreshing

Cons: The product price is more expensive in Singapore and I think it’s not worth it to buy Micellar water for SG$30 and above.

Will I repurchased it? Nope

Will I recommend it? Depend. If the product price is similar to L’Oreal Micellar water then I will choose this over that. I overlook the price US or UK the brands is not as costly as it’s in Singapore.
