WORTH IT or THROW IT: SMASHBOX PHOTO FINISH PRIMER review
The form you are trying to view has been unpublished.

Hello hello…. I am back again, hahaha.. probably you guys are so bored listening to “Hello” from me, kinda still feeling uncreative for my greeting but here I am. After so many reviews posted on this site, I have already come up with my own research of Smashbox photo primer versus Milani Cosmetics, due to the rumor that the primer is the dupe of Smashbox, therefore I tried to investigate it and thank god that my sister bought both primer. At first, I clearly having disbelief that Milani with the cheapest price could change the quality of Smashbox.

I try it on using silicone base foundation, the worst foundation and the best foundation that I have on my collections, then……… something happened during tried and tested.

The rumor is not entirely wrong nor does it entirely right, why I say that?

Smashbox has its own quality. When I apply it to my face, I never feel any sticky feeling whatsoever, it feels like I don’t even wear the primer at all. However, for Milani cosmetic, yes! It non-oily and non-sticky feeling like, but Smashbox is totally more than that and the foundation that I used worst or holy grail, it’s just resulting in the same manner, which is smooth finishing and long sustainability. I am also using my drugstore foundation from L’Oréal Magique cushion to do the test.

First look, kinda looks like it will be sticky

After I spread it evenly, quick dry, take only around 6 seconds
I use all of this makeup, to tested out the Smashbox

     Finishing result:

In my opinion, the quality of Smashbox is still above Milani, but the pricing is quite sensitive for me who prefer pocket friendly type of makeup. Milani has the same feeling with Lancome La base pro, and I feel that Milani is having a really good quality makeup as one of so many indie bran. I personally prefer to buy Milani instead of Smashbox or Lancome La base pro based on the pricing comparison of each brand. I like when I can feel my own primer, because I am forgetful person and I need to do some check up of which one cause my makeup cakey or moving to run more makeup test again. However, if you prefer something else, it’s your choice 🙂 we all have different kind of preferences.

    Pros:

Blend of vitamins A & E, grape seed extract and green tea care for skin

    Lightweight & oil-free

Safe ingredients (as mentioned in ingredients list)

Cruelty-free – For animal lovers, you can feel at ease, when using this product

    Cons:

Price is too expensive, based on quality, finishing effect and the type of product – I could get the same exact finishing with hourglass Mineral veil primer that also available in travel size.

With that expensive pricing, then the bottle should not be on plastic

    Thought about the product:

This product is not bad at all, it’s the opposite of bad. Just that, the pricing that they set is quite extravagant, in my opinion. If you are someone who doesn’t mind to spend bucks to buy primer just because you want a good looking makeup look then this is the type of primer you are looking for, you could try first in smaller size. If you feel you like how it turned out in your makeup face, then perhaps you may want to buy it in standard size. I provide the price below:

Where I purchased it? Sephora Singapore outlet

Price: SGD 25.00 – travel size;  SGD 68.00 for standard size

    Ratings:
    5 out of 5

    Will I repurchase it? Yes

Will I recommend it? I highly recommend for those people who willing to pay extra money to buy ‘only’ primer. And for those who want to try this, you can buy on smaller size

That’s all for now, thanks for reading up. if I missed out on anything, do feel free to let me know or if you do not understand something that I write in this post, please comment on the comment section down below.
